Sad to say this Railway is no longer in Existence and these pictures are of what was in my Highlands Ranch backyard.
The Mount Aikinbach Railway (thank you John Allen)
Watch the slideshow below to see this past railroad.
Looking to the south you can see the “Big Bridge” under construction as it passes over Troublesome Creek and two different lines of its self.
Goose #2 crosses the completed big bridge, all scratch built.
The C&S Passenger consist passes a small orchard of dwarf boxwoods.
Cribbing holds the track out of the creek and on the hill, while this C&S passenger consist winds down the route.
The seperation of the tracks along the Palisades is evident here.
The wye on the north end of the railroad is currently the only way to turn trains. All turnouts are hand thrown.
Meeting at troublesome junction.
Goose number 2 powers around the high trestle on the north slope of Mount Aikinbach.
Snow and ice on the high bridge make slippery going for Goose number 2 on a cold winter day.
