Cherry Hills is southeast Denver’s luxury community featuring gated estates, its own police force, acreage, for horses, a pathway system, all abutting the Denver Tech Center and being very accessible to downtown or the Inverness business corridor.
Many of the older homes on the 2.5 to 5 acre sites which stretch from the City of Englewood on the west, to I-25 on the east, the city of Denver on the north and Greenwood Village and Littleton to the south are valued not for the buildings but rather for the land. Many are completely removed and rebuilt while others are beautifully remodeled. Gated and secure estates are common as well as mountain views and that wonderful low density lifestyle. Similar properties and acreage can also be located in Greenwood Village Colorado. Go slow on the streets and respect your neighbors please. There simply are no homes in the $250,000 range, however adjoining cities such as Denver, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, also provide more affordable housing that is an easy commute into the Denver Tech Center or DTC.
The schools serving Cherry Hills Village, and the majority of the front range communities that are part of Denver are a diverse mix of public systems, charter schools, and private/parochial schools. Charter schools are considered public and will be included in the district listings. Please see the more school connections link for private, charter and home schooling options.
NOTE: While many school districts serve portions of Cherry Hills Village, no single one covers the entire Village. The property address will determine the school district. Sometimes they will overlap…but not always.

As mandated in Cherry Hills Village’s charter, the City is governed by a Council/Manager form of government. This system of governing consists of one Mayor, and 6 City Council members and a professional City Manager. Each of the council members represent one of six districts in the city The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and directly oversees the daily operations of the City. The City Council directs City policy while the City Manager is responsible for carrying out Council’s policies.
A wiki link to the city’s history and the official history page of the City of Cherry Hills Village. In 1938, after the great depression a few homes had been built just west of University Boulevard and south of Hampden Avenue in the area known as “Country Homes” aka “the Circle”.
The Cherry Hills Country Club had survived the depression and membership seemed to be increasing. And just to the south at University & Quincy there was a small school “Cherry Hills School”. Please look at the Cherry Hills Village link above for a much more comprehensive history.
Parks and Recreation
In all the cities around Denver there are a lot of opportunities for recreation, a lot of which Colorado is famous for including many horse clubs. The rest may be local golf, flag football or softball teams, walking and jogging path maps, or even recreation centers provided for residents.
