Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Real Estate Agent.

How long have you been in the Denver real estate business?

Experience counts! Many real estate transactions just fall apart because of the lack of experience of the agents involved.

Are you a full time agent or a real estate broker?
How much time do you want your agent to devote to your needs?

Can I cancel my agency agreement at any time? Will you put this in writing?
The agent works for you and should be accountable for not performing appropriately.

Are you fully automated with personal computers, fax machine, pager, car phone, voice mail, etc.? Automation helps free up the agents time to do the important things!

What is your annual sales volume? How many homes did you sell in Denver last year?
A higher sales volume does not mean better, but a low sales volume leaves you wondering whether you can get the results and experience you desire.

Do you have a list of past customers and clients? May I call them?
Why just take an agents word for what he says. As a future employer of a real estate agent, you may want to check the agents references before saying "you're hired".

How much time do you invest in professional training and career development?
The real estate industry is constantly changing and your agent should be continually training to accommodate these changes. Here you are looking for a commitment to a career, not just a part time job.
