Franktown Local Government - Douglas County Colorado
The area known as Franktown is an unincorporated town in the state of Colorado.
An off-the-beaten-path crossroads with a couple cafes, a Mexican restaurant and gift boutiques, Franktown is small by any standard. However the rich history of the town is well preserved at the historical museum just outside town. There is also a small cemetery just to the northeast of the single stop light at the intersection of Colorado Highway 86 and Colorado Highway 83. Colorado 86 was originally the Russelville Road that led to the current community of Elizabeth and east to Kiowa and Limon. One will note as one passes through this little crossroads that motorcycle enthusiasts frequent the local cafes.
