Castle Rock Colorado History

Originally the town was a railroad town and a helper station for trains about to assault the grades of Monument Hill on the way south to Colorado Springs.
Incorporated in 1881, Castle Rock offers a charming historic downtown, along with great amenities and excellent housing which ranges in price between the mid 100s for simple condominiums all the way up to luxury homes in gated communities with massive views of the Colorado Front Range.
Golf Courses abound with both public and exclusive private courses for the golf enthusiast. Castle Pines, a gated, secure, luxury community with a private security force, was home to the International Golf Tournament.
The Town lies at an elevation of 6,202 feet, in the Plum Creek Valley along Interstate 25 at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It is halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs. The climate is known to be one of the best in the nation with more than 300 days of sunshine, clear blue skies and less than 15 inches of precipitation each year.
Close to the Denver Tech Center and the Inverness business center, Castel Rock, COlorado is a short drive from Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Littleton, Englewood, or Centennial Colorado, and only about 30 minutes to downtown Denver Colorado.
